MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. John Snee, charged with using obscene language, was dismissed. CHARGE OF STEALING CHAMPAGNE. Thomas M'Oluggage was charged by a publican named M'Fie, with stealing a bottle of champagne from the shelves of his public house, Oaversham, Different articles had been missed at various times, supposed to have been taken away by the prisoner. He was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment with hard labor. CHARGE OF STEALING FROM THE PEI.SON. A charge against John Dixon for stealing from the person of W. M’Dougald, was withdrawn, the evidence of Dixon tending to prove it unfounded. THE DOG NUISANCE. Daniel Knox, charged with having an unregistered dog. It appeared that a promise had been made to destroy the dog, but that it was not done until after the constable had called a second time, who was told that the dog was dead. Pic was fined L2. William Hooper, for allowing a horse to wander, was fined. The defendant urged that having paid pound fees, he should not be fined in addition. He was ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution.
