Tins Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor, and W. Mason, Fsq., J.P.) DUUNKKXNKSS. Jatqes Newton was fined ss. James Million! was lined 20s. ASS.VUI.T. A charge of assaulting his wife preferred against Joshua Eccles was dismissed, the evidence being insufficient. CIIU.D DESERTION. Mary Thomson alias Brown, was charged on warrant from Christchurch with this offence ; and on the application of the police was remanded for seven days. MINOR OFFENCES. James Minford, for driving horses without reins, was fined Lo ; and a further sum of L 5 for resisting Constable Bevan. A number of minor offences were summarily disposed of.
