MAYOR'S COURT.
This Day. (Before his the Mayor.) A DANGEROUS NEIGHBOR, With reference to the application of the police to have James Kirby bound over to keep the peace, his Worship said that although he bad not the smallest doubt the individual in question was quite unlit to be at large, upon careful consideration of the Act under which the application was made, he could only come to the conclusion that he had no power to grant it. That it was so was to be regretted. Application refused. OFFENCES AGAINST THE BYE-lAWS. John Simpson, for allowing cattle to wander, was fined 2s Gd and costs, and Thomas Murphy, for a similar offence, 5s and costs. A charge of allowing a chimney to be in lue,
was dismissed with a caution, it being his first offence. Geo. Daniel, for allowing a horse to wander, was fined 2s fid and costs John Burton, Richard Evans, and John Roberts, was charged with plying for hire with an unlicensed dray, but as it was a first offence, and the license had since been taken out by each, the case was dismissed. A charge of lighting a fire in the open air without permission, preferred against Chas. Bellman, was dismissed with a caution. Charles Hogg, for allowing cattle to wander on the Town Belt, was fined 5s and costs.
