The next siteiucr of the Court of Appeal is tq he held at Wellington on the 9th of January ne>;t. E. C. J. Stevens, M.H.K. for Selwyn, met liia constituents at Lcestou on Monday. He spoke at great length, claiming for the Oppo. sition, during last session, patriotism and sincere devotion to the welfare of the Co’ony in not opposing the financial scheme of the Government, and contended that all their efforts tended to surround the scheme with proper Parliamentary control. A vote of confidence in Mr Stevens was carried by 17 to 9, aud .au adverse vote rejected by II to 10,
