A whirlwind has carried away eighty houses in Transylvania. Up to this time 200 bodies have been found in the fields, and fourteen in the river at Shartsburg. A dreadful fire raged in a quarter of tho city of Bremen, whereby a great number of houses and warehouses were destroyed. The lower house at the Hague has adopted, by forty-eight against thiety, the Bill for the abolition of capital punishment. The revenue by sale of tob cco in France last year has amounted to 248,000,000f , L 2,920,000 sterling. The Parisians alone have consumed, either in smoking, chewing, or snuff-taking, 40,000,000f., say L 1,600,000 sterling.
