BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.
(l-'KO.M OUB OWN CORRESPONDENTS.) Wellington, August 29. The House met to-day at 1 p.m. Sir David Monro, the Speaker, announced with much emotion that it was not his intention, after the expiry of the present session, to seek re-elec-tion. The Hon. Messrs M‘Lcan, Yogel, and Stafford feelingly alluded to the impartiality of the Speaker during his ten years of office. The members give a dinner to-night to Sir David.
