A DISCLAIMEB.

To the Editor of the Evening Star. Sir— Having noticed in your issue of Saturday last a letter signed “Ashlar,” referring to the Port Chalmers Bench, and an impression having gone abroad in Port Chalmers that I am the writer of the same,. I wish to correct such impression by stating that I aft not the writer of the article in question; neither have I had any hand or part in it whatever. I am, &c.. George L. Asher, Town Clerk, Port Chaltners. i Port Chalmers, August 15, 1870.
