MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor and J. T, Thomson, Esq., J.P.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. •Robert Thompson was charged with this offence. It being his first offence he was discharged with a caution. James Taylor out on bail upon a similar charge not appearing, his bail was forfeited. ABUSIVE AND THREATENING LANGUAGE. James M'Callum, J. Spence, and J, Dougless, were charged with having on the sth
inssant, in Caversham, been guilty of this offence. It appeared from the evidence that on the night in question the defendants had a dispute outside the house of the defendant DouglesSjJwhen language calculated to provoke a breach of the peace was freely indulged in, to the annoyance of the neighbourhood. The case having been gone into M’Callum was lined 40s, J. Spence, who did not appear, L 5 and costs, Dougless was discharged. MINOR OFFENCES. John Matherson for driving a dray without reins, was fined ss. Thomas Thompson, for allowing a horse to stray was fined 10s ; and Richard Paton for a like offence, was mulcted in a similar amount.
