WASTE LAND BOARD.

This Dai. The Waste Land Board met to-day at noon. Present—The Commissioner of Waste Lands, Messrs Reid, Duncan, and Hughes. M, Peterson made application to purchase three acr-s of land next his property on the Peninsula, for the purpose of forming a barrier against its being destroyed by sand-drift. The application was granted. The application of Messrs Campbell and Reid to have the lease of twenty acres of land, quarry reserve at Otcpopo, submitted to auction was declined, the land being already leased. James M ‘Pherson’s application for permission to build a hut on quarry reserve section 15, block 7, Oamaru, was referred to the Secretary for Land and Works. James Winter’s application to purchase section 17, block 4, Marcwhenua, was granted.
