In the Melbourne Benevolent Asylum, there is an okl Peninsular hero. On the occasion of a recent visit by Genet al Tom Thumb and suite, they met with the hero, Captain Wigmore, who showed them his medals and other trophies won on many a well-fought field at Salamanca, Vittoria, Orthos, and the Pyrenees, and who, with broken fortunes, in his old age had found a refuge in the asylum.
