WASTE LAND BOARD.

This Day. The Waste Land Board met to-day, at noon. Present—The Chief Commissioner of Waste Lands, Messrs Hughes and Reid. Messrs Connell and Moodie applied for Mr H. Tesehemaker for a lease of part of 2 of 22, block 7, Oamarn, for flax-dressing purposes. Occupation license granted at L 5 per annum. Messrs Connell and Moodie, for Thomas Watson, applied to have section 198, block 2, Papakaio, put up for sale, which was declined. On the petition of W. Kiall, Superintendent Wesleyan minister, Lawrence, to purchase sections 1, 2, 3, and 10, block 14,

Havelock, for a church, the petitioner was recommended to apply for a site outside the mining reserve. Protection was granted to Matthew Cleland for three mouths to prospect for coal; if successful, to be allowed a lease of ten acres on the usual terms. The application of George Morrison, of Lawrence, to purchase or lease sections 12 to 16, block 31, Lawrence, for mineral purposes, was referred to the Warden for report. On James Ritchie’s application to purchase sections 55 and 81, block 1, Tuapeka, held under an agricultural lease, the purchase of the lease only was agreed to, to be paid for in one month. John M'Crae’s application for a coal lease of section 5, block 5, Tuapeka, was agreed to for 20 acres only, pt LlO per annum-rate per ton not to exceed 12s 6d^ The bind in dispute between Mr Laruach and Mr Macgrcgor was ordered to be put up again for sale at the last bidding, in terms of the conditions of sale. Section 2 of 15, block 1, Otakia, on the application of Alex. Paterson, was ordered to be put up for sale as land of special value, at 21s per acre. It was ordered that depasturing licenses should still be issued.

Mr J. >S. Webb’s application for C. G. Moore, for permission to cut flax on the Waibemo township was granted, without exclusive privilege. Permission was given to John Watts to shoot a bullock (bis property) on the Hundred of Tuturau.
