RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

This Day. (Before A.C. Strode, Esq., R.M.) DRUXKARDS. John Duff, A. Robertson, Mary Boyle, and W. Jefferson were each fined 10s, or 24 hours imprisonment, for drunkennes ; and Robert Asher 20s, or 48 hours. ASSAULT. John Mitchell was charged by his wife with assaulting her on .Sunday last. From the evidence it appeared that he was drunk, and on going into the house he pushed her violently. He pleaded drunkenness, ami that she smashed the door. He had been before the Court previously, and was fined 40s, or a weeks’ imprisonment. He was also ordered to be bound over to keep the peace for three months. Civil Cases. H. S. Fish v. J. Wansborough. 4s 2d. Verdict for the plaintiff by default. Isaacs and Marks v. J. E. Fox.—Ls. Verdict by default for the plaintiffs for the amount.
