THE GLEN ROAD.

To the Editor of the Evening Star. Sm—The inhabitants of the Glen being anxious to have their road put upon a more satisfactory basis, presented petitions to that effect to the Cavcrsham and Mornington district road boards, their roa I running through both districts. These petitions were numerously signed by the ratepayers in those districts respectively ; and as there has been a difference of opinion respecting a right-of-way through two sections of the Church pro-perty-namely,- 5 and (>, will you behind enough to give the accompanying letter a place in your very interesting j mrnal, so that the opinion of Mr .Henry Howorth, solicitor, Dunedin, may be laid before the public, showing the right they have to the free and unrestricted use of said road. I have merely to add that, although private individuals can know but little of the progress made hy district road boards, their proceedings seldom, if ever, coming under observation hy means of the press ; yet it will bo obvious to the mask superficial observer, that hy means of tins road, if taken up hy the Cavcrsham and Mornington road hoards, especially the latte.-, improvements of great public utility, as well as private benefit, both directly and collaterally connected therewith, can be accomplished. — Yours, &c., John Langmuir.
