NOT ACCLIMATISED

TYPHOON MAKES PROGRESS (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)

MELBOURNE, October 26.

It is still far from certain that Typhoon will run in/ the Melbourne Cup. C. J. Stowe, his trainer, said today that Typhoon ran four seconds slower than he was credited with on Tuesday.

"Typhoon is not anything like a certainty to run in the Cup," said Stowe. "I have set ideas about the matter, and will communicate them to the owner, Mr. Preston, when he arrives."

Stowe said there was nothing wrong with Typhoon. He ran poorly in the Caulfield Stakes because he was not acclimatised, but he has done* well since, and will soon be at his best.

The New Zealand sprinter Neenah has arrived in Melbourne. He had a good trip across and landed in fine condition.

There are only two New Zealand representatives engaged at the Moonee Valley Meeting tomorrow. They are Stenelaus, 7.4, in the Moonee Valley Cup, and Immediate, second top weight with 8.12 in the Phoenix Handicap,- one mile.
