SHIPMENT TO RUSSIA

Rec, 11 a.m. LONDON, October 26. The Western Allies have agreed that 14 of Germany's greatest undertakings, including the Krupp works, at Essen* the Blohm and Voss shipyards, at Hamburg, and a machine tool plant at Dusseldorf, shall be made available for reparations. The agreement was announced at United States headquarters, where it was stated that nine plants were in the British zone and three in American zone. --V '"-,'.. '■;•'■ '.'■': + ■'-■-■

Reuters correspondent says that all 14 appeared in the^ecret list of 40 plants which the-SRussian Government seeks to move to Russia as part payment, of reparations., Reuters correspondent at Frankfurt says that the plants in the United; States zone are already crated by Germany and ready for removal. It is expected that all 14 plants will be available for dispatch to Russia in the near future.'

The factories in the British, zone include Schiessdefries,; >at Dusseldorf, one of -Germany's largest producers of machine tools and'highquality ammunition, the Hanndsuez heavy machinery works, and Deschimag, one of the biggest shipbuilding concerns which produced a large number of merchantmen before the war. In the United States zone are the BM.W. car works, and in the French zone the IG Farben chemical works, at Ltidwigshafen.

The British decision to release the Krupp; works is considered a gesture of confidence in Eussia.
