The Domei news agency quoted undisclosed sources as believing that the Japanese Foreign Office, before implementing General Mac Arthur's diplomatic directive, would ask the' Allied authorities whether the order conforms ; with the Potsdam. Declaration.
Allied headquarters stated that the Japanese Government had so far not communicated its attiude towards General Mac Arthur's directives of October 11 ordering the revision of the Zaibatsu (family) system.
