HEAVILY ATTACKED
INDIANS NORTH OF SAIGON

Annamese heavily attacked Indian troops north of Saigon last night, reports a SEAC bulletin. Indians held the Annamese until reinforcements arrived, and the Annamese were beaten off.
Sweeps which were carried out in the Cholon,area yesterday produced a large number of suspects and a considerable quantity of arms and ammunition.
A British-French bulletin reports attempts at terrorism inside Saigon. Incendiary attacks were made against some buildings. Allied pickets on bridges were subjected to sniping during the night and replied with mortar fire. Japanese fire-fighting squads were also subjected to sniping. The bulletin adds: "A bow and arrow factory at Thuduc fell into our hands. This area is reported to be quiet."
