RED CROSS RELIEF
During the past year, it was reported to the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, 447 cases of goods, valued at £22,255, and containing 44,510 articles, had been shipped to Great Britain for the needs of distressed people in the "blitzed areas. Some of the .articles distributed by the society in hospital comforts included the following:—Dressing-gowns 880, pyjamas 1756, pullovers, 2462, cardigans 175, handkerchiefs 7319, socks 3847, jerseys 21, gloves and, mittens 509, facecloths 4587, ditty bags 1682, bed jackets 92, bandages 4146, and miscellaneous articles 67,292. In all, approximately 94,378 articles were distributed. In addition, 304 cases were sent /to • Greece, representing a value of £U2,742. . . .. •
