PROVING THEIR WORTH

NEW YORK, July 25.

Admiral Sir James Somerville, head of the British Admiralty delegation to the United States, told an Associated Press correspondent that the heavilyarmed British carriers, built to combat land-based planes in European waters, were proving their worth against the Kamikazes in the Pacific. "Britain is sending topnotchers to the Pacific," he said. "We are determined to go after the Japanese. After all, there is the question of territory, 75,000 British prisoners, and old scores to pay ofT." Admiral SomerviHe added that while a single command had been employed in the European theatre it was impossible at present in the Pacific. It was not impossible in. the future, however.
