CONTROL MEASURES
ALLIED GOVERNMENT MEETS
LONDON, July 25
The Allied military government met again in Berlin today. A communique said that a large measure of agreement has been reached between the nations. A correspondent said among the problems discussed were the control of j the black market, the provision of heat for the city during the coming winter, and the control of the cinema, theatre, the Press, and the radio. He says that the proposed method of control of news and propaganda provides for uniformity in every zone of the city, but it is not known yet what methods have been arrived at. . The correspondent says it is becoming increasingly plain that the Germans will be very lucky if there is enough food within their own frontiers to feed them in the commg winter. Until Allied reserves of food are built up, the Soviet authorities are continuing to feed the' population. The Allies will augment these supplies with a proportion of the 25,000 tons which will start coming into the British area tomorrow. Red Army supplies will be used until both the British and American authorities overcome their chief difficulties. The four main political parties in Germany have appealed to the people to help them in gathering the harvest. The British military government-in : Carinthia (Austria) has recognised, as the provisional government of the province, the advisory committee of Austria which has been co-operating with the Allies since the first days of the occupation. A correspondent says that all political parties are represented in this provisional government but the Allies are retaining the right to suggest changes in its make-up and confirm or reject new appointments. As long as the provisional government in "Vienna, headed by Dr. Renner. is not recognised by the United Nations, there can be no contact between it and this provisional government of Carinthia.
