GUILT ADMITTED
MEN WHO ROBBED CHINESE P.A. HASTINGS, July 24,
The theft of a money-belt containing about £600 from a Chinese whare at Houmoana on July 13 was admitted by William Manaena, labourer, 19, and Owen Desmond Prue, mill hand, 18, at the Hastings Court yesterday. It was stated by the police that about £160 was still missing, the greater part being in the money-belt which was thrown into the Tukituki River, and despite an extensive search had not been found.
The accused were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
