30,000 LIVES LOST

Rec. 9 a.m. LONDON, July 23. Over 30,000 personnel of the British Merchant Navy lost their lives in the war, states a report to the National Union of Seamen.
The report adds that equally grievous losses must still be reckoned on, as the war against Japan engages more and more of the Merchant Navy's resources.
