NORTH ISLAND TEAM

P-A. AUCKLAND, September 3. Messrs. P. w. Lucas (Auckland), A. McDonald (Wellington), and C. Brown (Taranaki) conferred on Saturday evening to selectthe North Island team which will play South Island at Christchurch on Saturday week. As Mr. Lucas is a patient in., the Auckland Hospital, arrangements were made for the other two selectors to come to Auckland to discuss with him at the hospital the merits of the respective players. In the team the selectors subsequently announced there are seven Auckland representatives, five from Wellington, and one each from Waikato, Taranaki, and Manawatu.
