"The battle towards Belgium is being turned into a rout," says Reuters correspondent with the American First - Army. "The German.front has broken completely. The Americans are on the outskirts of Sedan." The bridgehead at Amiens has been extended along the Somme to the neighbourhood of Corbie and Doulas. The peninsula south of Brest has , been cleared of the enemy. The Allied troops advancing between . the Somme and the Seine all yesterday met no effective German resist- - ance anywhere: - ' The FirsVUnited States Army, pushing north in the areas of Sehlis and Crepy, reported "light to moderate" opposition; ... The British United Press correspondent' at Rouen reports that the Germans lost in' two, days over 2000 vehicles and guns during the Allied onslaught against their retreating columns mov- - ing across the Seine-Rouen area.
