NEARING THE END
WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS The final classes in the Wellington Competitions Society's festival will be heard tonight when the Town Hall, Concert Chamber, and Oddfellows' Hall will be in use. A demonstration concert will be given tomorrow afternoon in the Town Hall. His Excellency the Governor-General will present the successful competitors with their prizes and awards at a special demonstration concert in the Town Hall tomorrow night, when the cream of the items of the whole competitions will be repeated. Recalls for the ladies' vocal scholarship, to be heard tonight, are Miss Shirley Austin-Turtle and Miss Mona Ross. In the gentlemen's vocal scholarship, Mr. T. Hatch and Mr. F. The name "Raukawa" was chosen by the Wellington Hospital Board on a majority vote last night for the railway siding now known as the Mackay's Crossing siding, which will serve the projected tuberculosis hospital at Paekakariki. The choice of name, which it is intended to apply also to the new hospital, will be submitted to the geographic board for approval-
