(Special P.A. Corresoonilent.)

LONDON, September 1

Squadron Leader J. S. Dinsdale, D.F.C., of Te Kuiti, has .been appointed commanding officer of the New Zealand torpedo-bomber squadron, Squadron Leader Dinsdale is one of the distinguished New Zalanders of the Coastal Command. In May, 1942, he hit the Prinz Eugen with a torpedo when she was proceeding to Germany from Trondheim.

This squadron has had little operational duty during the summer months, but the lull will not last much longer. Its New Zealand personnel were changed recently when the tour of duty of several of the crews expired. They were replaced by other New Zealanders.
