EX-ROYAL NAVAL MEN MEET
' A highly satisfactory year,, with a big increase in membership, was recorded in the report of the Ex-Royal Naval Men's Association at the annual meeting of the Wellington branch. The building fund proposal started in May last to establish a club for the exclusive use of men of the Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy was progressing very satisfactorily, stated the report. The annual meeting conferred life membership on Messrs. Parker and T. Sharpe, and also on the oldest member, Mr. Dalton, who joined the Royal Navy in 1886,, and was still going strong at 76 yejrs of age. A special vote of thanks was passed to Messrs. W. Parker and T. Sharpe, for their help in fitting out the new clubrooms. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Commodore Sir Atwell Lake; vice-patrons, Engineer-Lieutenant-Com-mander C. G. Lidgett, R.N. (rtd.), En-gineer-Lieutenant-Commander W. Ernshaw, R.N.; president, Mr. W. E. Thompson; vice-presidents, Captain W. McLeod, Mr. G. Morris; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. C. Allison; hon. secretary, Mr. H. W. Hayward.
