Gus Lesnevich became the world light-heavyweight boxing champion by gaining a decision over Anton Cristoforidis, of Greece, in a fifteen-round bout—U.P.A.
The title was previously- held by Billy Conn, who is now a contender for Louis's heavyweight championship.
