NEGOTIATIONS IN HAND
WASHINGTON, May 23.
It is authoritatively stated that Eritain is negotiating with Latin American nations for the purchase of 100 foreign merchant ships which have sought refuge in Latin American ports.
Negotiations are also said to have opened between the British Purchasing Mission and the United States Maritime Commission by which Britain hopes to obtain some merchant tonnage when the United States formally requisitions 84 foreign ships at present under surveillance.—U.P.A.
