SUNKEN ZAMZAM

COMPENSATION DEMANDED

CAIRO, May 22

The Egyptian Government has protested strongly to Berlin against the sinking of the ship Zamzam in the South Atlantic, and demanded full compensation.

A communique states that the Egyptian Government had received news that the Zamzam had been sunk by a German naval unit while flying the Egyptian flag. It entered a strong protest, against, this infringement of international law, and reserved full rights for itself in the matter.

It was also announced that the Egyptian Government had taken measures to secure the repatriation of its nationals on board the Zamzam.— U.P.A.
