"Eyening Post," May 24. Business in the share market this week was flagging and uneventful. Prices remain steady with no unusual eagerness on the part of holders to sell. Interest continues keen in the giltedge section, and, in Auckland, city loans had fair business. Investors are at present interested in the latest conversion of Government loans. Shortly after the issue of the prospectus the Minister of Finance, Mr. W. Nash, was able to announce subscriptions of £6,650.000 towards the £21,250,000 required to be converted. GOVERNMENT LOANS.
