PATRIOTIC EFFORT

STAFF OF THE D.I.C.

At a general staff meeting held recently, the manager of the D.I.C, Wellington, Mr. R. D. Thomson, congratulated the staff on their splendid effort in raising £1070 10s for patriotic purposes. Of this amount £608 11s 6d. was raised for the £1,000,000 Patriotic Appeal, with the very low outlay of £7 4s Bd.

By voluntary subscription throughout the year the staff raised £218 5s 6d from which donations have been made to the National, Metropolitan, and Provincial funds, the London appeal, and the Gift Plane Fund, as well as for the sending of gift parcels to members of the D.I.C. staff now with the N.Z.E.F.

A further amount of £137 10s was subscribed to the Red Cross Fund, and to the National Savings Effort the staff m three months have contributed £106 3s.
