WIDESPREAD IN CANADA

(Rec. 1 p.m.) TORONTO, May 22

Forest fires are raging in the hills along the River St. Lawrence, and almost to the foothills of the Rockies. Manitoba is the only province between Quebec and Alberta not reporting fires. Near Aylsham. in north-east Saskatchewan, attempts are being made to move 15.000,000 feet of the timber usable for ammunition boxes, Large detachments of the soldiers have joined the forest rangers in fighting the flames.—U.P.A.
