VISITING DELEGATES ENTERTAINED

NATIONAL CLUB RECEPTION

An enjoyable reception was given at the National Club last night in honour of delegates who are in Wellington for the fifth annual Dominion conference of the National Party. The guests, who numbered about 300 and were present from all parts of New Zealand, were received by Colonel C. H. Weston, president of the club, and Mrs. Weston.

Brief addresses were given by Colonel Weston, who welcomed the guests, Mr. S. G. Holland, Leader of the National Party, Mr, A. Gordon, president, and the Hon. Adam Hamilton. Refreshments and supper were served and incidental music played, items being given by Mr. George Smith (an Auckland delegate), Misses V. Blamires, O. Reid, and E. Roach. The club committee, which r.rranged the reception, qompriscd Mrs. G. F. Stone, Misses M. Coopei', B. Gibbons, Dr. O. C. Mazengarb, and Messrs. J. T. Martin, H. F. Toogood, H. I. Graves, G. Y. Perry. E. Grant-Taylor, and C. M. Budd.

Among others present were Mrs. S. G. Holland and Mrs. A. Gordon, and four delegates, whose husbands, members of Parliament, are serving overseas, Mesdames A. N. Grigg (Mid-Can-terbury), T. Macdonald (Mataura). J. Allen (Hauraki), and J. Hargest (Invercargill).
