BOYS' INSTITUTE
The monthly meeting of the management committee of the Boys' Institute was held on Monday, Mr. J. D. Howitt being unanimously re-elected chairman for the year, and sub-committees for the various departments were also elected. In his report on the activities of the past month the director stated that the annual meetings of the football clubs had been held and tibvs allotted for training. Association teams had been entered in all boys' grades, and a Rugby team composed mostly of resident boys opened thf> season. The band had held its weekly practices, and during the Easter period had attended a number of functions. . The gymnasium, games room, and reading room had been jwell attended. A number of applications for admission to the boarding festablishment had been received. The resident boys' leisuretime programme for the winter months commenced with gymnastic classes and Rugby practice, and the Bibl - classes on Sunday mornings had been well j attended.
Messrs. W. V. Dyer, D. McCaskill, and J. Stbnehouse have been reappointed to represent the Wellington Education Board on the Board of Governors of the Hutt Valley High School lor the ensuing -two years.
