GERMAN FREIGHTER
FLIGHT FROM COLOMBIA
COMPANION SHIP SEEN
NEW YORK, October 31.
A message from Barranquilla, Colombia, states that the pilot of a plane reported that he had sighted the German freighter Helgoland outside territorial waters and accompanied by another ship.
It was reported earlier that the Government of Colombia had ordered an investigation into the flight of the German freighter Helgoland, which slipped out from Puerto, Colombia Bay, last night without notifying the authorities and carrying 30 Germans, including 20 aviators and mechanics from the defunct Scadta Airline.
The crew are believed to be sailors from the freighter Hannover, who reached Barranquilla by boats after the capture of the Hannover by a British warship.
