RED CROSS TRANSPORT SERVICE
It was reported to the last meeting of the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Red Cross Society that badges and rank for the members of the Red Cross transport service would be parallel to those in the V.A.D. Arrangements are in hand for the manufacturers to provide the clothing, and it is hoped to see members of the service in uniform at an early date. Members of this service Lave been under training for some time, and will be available to the authorities for duty in the event of a national emergency.
To enable, support to be given to the £ 1,000,000 all purposes patriotic appeal, it was decided to ask all branches of the society to suspend fund-raising activities until the end of the year. During the meeting a deputation was received . from, the National - Patriotic Fund Board and the relationship of the society to the board's activities was discussed with amicable results.
