SURF LIFE-SAVING
MARANUI CLUB
Despite the loss of over fifty members to the Services, the Maranui Surf and Lifesaving Club was represented by about forty members at its recent annual meeting. Juniors and older members were eager to help, and no difficulty was found in filling the various offices.
Mr. T. G. Queree, who presided, said that the club was really no worse off than many others. He congratulated the executive committee on the satisfactory way in which the club's affairs had been conducted. Mr. E. B. Hughes, the club captain, said that the club was still at the top of the tree. He anticipated .no trouble in carrying on with patrols and training, and expressed the hope that the competitive side would not be abandoned. Six new junior members were enrolled.
