PERSONAL NOTES

Mr.' and Mrs. Alan Pritchard arrived at Wellington yesterday morning in the course of a flying honeymoon trip. Mr. Pritchard, who is commercial pilot to the Public Works Department, is flying his bride (formerly Miss Hazel Wilson) from New Plymouth to Blenheim, Hokitika, Waihou, and Christchurch, and back to Taranaki, via Rongotai.

Mrs. H. Temple White, Wellington, is visiting New Plymouth and is the guest of Mrs. G. H. White. Mrs. A. Wells, Nelson, is also the guest of her sister-in-law, Mrs. White.

Mrs. Rymell Scantlebury and Miss May £Jik, Wellington, have left for a short visit to Auckland to stay with Mrs. Claude Hill, Herne Bay.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Mercer, Wellington, are visitors to Christchurch. Mrs. Mercer is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Noel Bowman, Fendalton.

Mrs. C. T. Blank,. Yaldhurst, Christchurch, is spending a few weeks with her sister, Mrs. F. Langbein, Lower Hutt:

Miss Marjorie Skill, formerly of Kilbirnie, Wellington, is now in London and is doing voluntary war work at one of London's hospitals three nights a week. Miss Skill went to Australia from. Wellington a few years ago, and was • broadcasting from 2BL and Farmers for some time before going to England two years ago. She is employed in a bank in London.

Mr. and Mrs. John Hornabrook, Masterton, the well-known golfers, will leave in a few weeks to take up residence in New Plymouth.

Miss Beatrix de Launay has returned to Wellington after a two months' tour of the North Island.

Miss Johnston, Inglewood, who has been spending a holiday at Hastings, is now the guest of Mrs. Wallace Bruce, Adams Terrace, Wellington.

Miss Moncrieff, a New Zealand worker attached to the national staff of the V.M.C.A. in China, arrived in Christchurch on Sunday.

Miss Jean Robertson, Wellington Public Hospital, arrived in Gisborne yesterday, where she is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Robertson.

Miss M. Sladden, Wellington, is the guest of Miss B. Fynes-Clinton, Opawa, Christchurch.

Mrs. A. G. Rutter, formerly of Napier, has returned to New Zealand from the Solomon Islands for a holiday visit, and will arrive at Napier about the end of the month, where she will stay with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Rowe. At present, Mrs. Rutter, accompanied by her two young children, is staying with Mrs. R. C. Maunder, in Wellington. Dr. Rutter, formerly well known in Napier, is doctor in charge of the hospital at Bilua, which is connected with the Methodist Mission.

Mrs. J. Abel, of 3 Percival Street, Wellington, returned from Sydney last week after an absence of some months. While in Sydney Mrs. Abel was constantly in touch with the headquarters of the New South Wales Red Cross Society and the Lord Mayor's Fund organisation in Sydney, exchanging opinions and getting ideas with a view to assisting appeals in New Zealand.
