CHOOSING A CANDIDATE

For the ■ selection of a candidate to stand in the National Party's interests at the Waipawa by-election the names of a number of possible nominees have been mentioned. In addition to Mr. John Ormond, who is now overseas with the Forces, and who has intimated, by cablegram his willingness to accept nomination,- the following have been mentioned as likely nominees for the party selection: Mr. C. G. Harker, of Waipawa; Mr. Clutha Mackenzie, of Auckland; Mr. R. Tapper, of Havelock North; Mr. D. Eddy, of Tikokino; Mr. R. H. White, of Otane; and Mr. W. Tucker, of Mangateretere.
