ITALIAN BASES VISITED
LONDON, October 5.
A Royal Air Force communique in Cairo states: —"We successfully attacked shipping and warehouses at Benghazi. Fires broke out on a large merchantman and also near a naval dockyard, and several hits were scored on small ships. We attacked Tobruk' harbour, and bombs fell on small ships moored at the jetty. Military stores and concentrations at Bardia were raided and incendiary bombs dropped on the barracks.
