WEIHAIWEI LEASE
BRITAIN'S RESPONSIBILITY
CHUNGKING, October 5.
Questioned regarding the report of a possible Japanese seizure of Weihaiwei, the Chinese military spokesman declared that the responsibility would rest with Britain, as China had renewed the lease of Weihaiwei to Britain for ten years.
[Renewal of the lease was refused by the Nanking puppet regime.]
