MILLIONS OF WORKERS

WASHINGTON, October 6.
! The Secretary of Labour, Miss Frances Perkins, predicted an increase of 3,000,000 to 4,000.000 workers in the defence industries, in addition to 2.000,000 indirectly employed by the end of 1941. She said that the completion of work on the present defence appropriations would require 4,540,000 workers and many years of labour.
