Racing next week at Otaki (Saturday), and Dunedin and Auckland (Saturday and the following Monday). Otaki and Mastertqn weights are due on Monday. Otaki acceptances on Wednesday. Gay Rebel, formerly trained by M. B. Edwards, is now trained by his owner, Mr. P. Andrews, at Orari. He was produced in-the highweight event at Oamaru last week, but was always well back. Weights for the Stewards' Handicap are due on October 22, two days before the opening of the Wellington Meeting. , The two-year-old half-sister by Colossus to Barabbas recently leased by Messrs. B. V. and V. B. Carruthers, of Trentham, has been named Arctic Night. , Boreas is the name that has been registered for a two-year-old chestnut gelding by The Greek out of Aurora Borealis, dam also of Aurora's Love and Aurora's Star. Mansura, a three-year-old halfbrother by Bambury to Te Kara, Malatour, Queen March, etc., is H. Dulieu's candidate for. the Puhi Maiden Plate at Otaki next Saturday. Sunny Dale, who is due to have her first race in the maiden event at Otaki next Saturday, is a three-year-old black filly by Leighon out of the. Aus-tralian-bred Rossendale mare Wyndale, who was herself a disappointment on the Turf. Like her dam, she will be raced by Mr.- H. McManaway. ; Star Marki an entrant for the majden event at Otaki next Saturday, is an unraced three-year-old filly by Hall Mark out of the. Comedy King mare Stellaris, from the same family as Battle Scene, Bourbon, Nasstori, Small Boy, Golden Blonde, etc. She is owned by Mr. A. L. Bremer, of Hawera, who secured her at the Sydney sales last year for 110 guineas. Loch Noigh, who has raced only once previously and is due to make her next appearance at Otaki next Saturday, is another member of the Sporting BloodSly Fox-Blonde Princess-Hunting Cry family. She is a three-year-old filly by Kincardine, and is being raced in partnership by Mr. A. Mclntosh and the Hastings trainer J. M. Cameron. Happicoat was responsible for the best five furlongs of the morning in Imin 7 2-ssec at Ellerslie on Thursday, finishing attractively. She is reported to have come on a good deal since racing at Avondale and she is expected to make creditable showings if produced at the coming Auckland Meeting. She is one of the few Pink Coats to have been raced in the north. Royal Message and Llandaff both pleased in gallops over five furlongs at Ellerslie on Thursday. Royal Message has completely recovered from the soreness that came against her on the eve of the Avondale Jockey Club's Spring Meeting and she should have prospects at the coming Auckland Meeting. Llandaff is carying a bright appearance and he will be a force to be reckoned with as soon as tracks become firm. Sky Cracker, who was represented by his first winner when Ashaboy won at Hastings on Thursday, is no other than a half-brother by the Sunstar horse Sky-rocket to the successful racehorses and sires, Lackham and Grand Knight. He was imported from England by Mr. W. Clark, of Gisborne, along with Kincardine, who has so far had much the better opportunities at the stud.
