TAXATION REDUCES PROFITS

Union Oil. Soap, and Candle Company.
Ltd., Auckland, informed shareholders ■n at' their 'annual meeting on bFriday that increased taxation had absorbed
the benefit of increased trading. While
gross profit was £533 higher, over £1300 more had had to be found for taxation, which consequently had resulted in a reduced net profit.
