No. 6 level: Rise, distance for week sft,
total 46ft; shaft, sunk 7ft, total 44ft. Sent to battery 22 tons of stone. Gold returns for September and October are as follows:—Battery department. 138oz lOcwtof gold from 228 tons of ore
i. . crushed; cyanide department, 20oz 15 dwt of bullion from 150 tons of sands «'•■ treated; total estimated value. £1195. In addition. 2£ tons of concentrates i were saved, valued at £100. In estimating the above values gold has been taken at 160s per oz. ALEXANDER. ;•■ Alexander Mines reports for the V week ended November 9: —No. 6 level: ,- Driving south from the top of the last rise has been continued. 10ft having f been advanced, making a total of 34ft from rise. This advance has been on reef averaging .2ft in width showing free gold. A little water at present, coming from the eastern wall, into which the reef has faulted. The stope - above No. 6 and south of the above .. workings is being worked on the north end with reef 2ft wide, in an endeavour to intersect drive. Stoping has been X. in operation north of the winse from No. 5. The intermediate layer south of •- winse has been completed, and stoping . commenced on reef Sft wide. The Argo return was 330z for 132 hours from 14,000 yards.
