DECREES IN FRANCE
LIFE OF PARLIAMENT EXTENDED PROPAGANDA MINISTRY CONTROL OF RADIO (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) PARIS, July 29. Eighty decrees signed by President Lebrun include an extension of the life of Parliament by two years to 1942; the formation of a Ministry of Information in order to offset German propaganda; the control of broadcasting under a central administration to counter Germany's radio war against France; extension of counter espionage; protection of the national defence industries by a tariff. The President has also ear-marked £5,639,000 for encouragement of larger families by a bonus. The new Ministry of Information land Broadcasting will be under the supervision of the Prime Minister, M. Daladier. The director of the informjation section will be the famous playwright M. Jean Giraudoux, and of the j latter Dr. Jtean Brillouin, Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Physics College of France. |
