Sir John Anderson, Lord Privy Seal, this month visited the works of Standard Telephones and Cables, Ltd., at New Soulhgate, London, where he witnessed a demonstration of the A.R.P. arrangements, tvhich are unique. The shelters are concrete tunnels with steel doors, these doors in turn being protected by concrete structures. Built facing the loorks, the slielters will accommodate all the employees, over six thousand, who have beta trained for orderly evacuation in a. few-minutes. The picture shows the evacuation taking place as part-of the demonstration.
