SPANISH GOLD

£8,500,000 FROM FRANCE

FRANCO GRIEVANCE ENDED

* (Received July 29, 1.15 p.m.) | LONDON, July 28. The Paris correspondent of "The Times" states that £8,500,000 in Spanish gold was handed over to Franco Administration officials,- ending one of General Franco's major grievances against France. !

No" provision has been made for settling the heavy expenses which France has incurred in maintaining Spanish refugees. The Government is inclined to write off the whole amount as trivial when so much is being spent on armaments.
