WAR DAMAGE RISK
MUTUAL PROTECTION SCHEME

RUGBY, July. 27.
In a written Parliamentary reply on the possibility of evolving a scheme for mutual protection against the risk of war damage to fixed property in private ownership, the Secretary of Mines, Captain Crookshank, states that the following persons have agreed to assist the Government by forming the conference which was announced in the House of Commons on July 17:— Viscount Weir, Sir Ernest Harvey, Sir Walter Benton Jonesi Sir ■ William Clare Lees, and Sir Alan Rae Smith.
Captain Crookshank hopes to convene the conference within the next few days, after which it will proceed with its inquiry under the chairmanship of Lord Weir.
